Markha Valley Trek
Offers some of the most amazing scenery to be found in Ladakh and is one of the regions favourite treks because of the beauty of the Markha Valley, overshadowed by the towering Kanyatse and other groups of Peaks. It is a land of monasteries and high passes, and if you are lucky then you will get to see snow leopards and many of the other wild animals of the Himalayas. The best way to begin this trek is from the village of Spituk. From here the trek passes the Indus River and Gandala Pass which takes you across the Markha valley. Finally it crosses the Kongmaru Pass, ending at the famous Hemis monastery. Our Jeep will be waiting there to drive you back to Leh via Martselang,Thiksey and the Shey monastery.
