Lamayuru to Hemis

Lamayuru, the oldest monastery is situated on the starting point of this trek, which finishes at Hemis the richest and most famous monastery of Ladakh. There are many Passes on this trail which leads through Hemis national park, established to preserve the elusive snow leopard and other wild animals. Further on it enters the beautiful Markha valley, which is overshadowed by many Peaks. The high pasturelands are used by locals as grazing for yaks & goats, and the meadows are dotted with animals.
